Brittle Fragile

Brittle Fragile revolves around a black Citroën BX 16V. Jasmine has been investigating the entangled narratives surrounding this car, and purposefully blending fact and fiction. The car was bought in 1990 by a woman named Britta, who eccentrically decorated it. More than two decades later, the artist’s brother bought the car which he owned until his passing away in 2015. Intertwining these narratives constructs a closeness between herself, her brother and a complete stranger. The car becomes an extension and physical manifestation of these social relations, while it also becomes an object that deals with loss. Here, you can read for more.
